Training Requirements
Above all else, Brighton Soccer League is dedicated to providing a safe environment for our players. This extends from when and where we play to our player-facing volunteer staff.
As a member of the New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWSA), BSL requires all of its members to fulfill the following requirements before the season begins (we will coordinate this and provide coaches with vouchers to offset the cost):
- Obtaining a New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA) Risk Management pass. This will involve:
- Completing annual player safety training (all volunteers).
- Risk management (SafeSport)
- Intro to Safety
- Having NYSWYSA complete a background check (good for 2 years, age 18 and older).
- Completing annual player safety training (all volunteers).
How to Sign Up
Options to sign on as a coach or team manager are available through registration (see Registration Link top right hand side to Register) at the following steps:
- Step 1.3: volunteering without also registering a player.
- Step 2.5: volunteering while registering a player.
Once complete, you will be contacted within 5 business days by the training coordinator (brightonsoccer@rochester.rr.com) with instructions on how to complete the requirements.
